Head of electrical training
SkillForge is a vocational institute built on one idea: the fastest way into a good career is to practise the job before you have it.
SkillForge began in 2008 as a single electrical workshop with 20 students and two instructors. Local employers kept telling us the same thing: they could not find people who were ready to work on day one.
We changed how training was done. Students spent more hours at the bench than at a desk, employers helped write the syllabus, and every learner left with a record of the jobs they had completed.
Today we run six programs across three campuses, and our graduates work in factories, hospitals, garages, studios and IT companies.
See where graduates workWhere we are going and how we plan to get there.
To give every learner practical, certified skills and the confidence to earn a living in a trade they choose, regardless of their background.
To be the first name employers think of when they need skilled technicians, and the first place a young person looks when they want a real career.
The principles we use to teach, hire and make decisions.
We are honest about fees, results and what a course can deliver.
We hold students to the standard employers expect on site.
Every learner is welcome, whatever their school or background.
No one touches a machine until they have passed safety training.
Skills are learned by doing, then doing again and again.
We track placements and publish our results every year.
Every course follows the same four-part cycle, so students always know what they are learning and why.
Short theory sessions with real equipment on the table.
Guided exercises at your own workstation for hands-on learning.
Client-style projects and employer internships.
Practical tests and national certification of skills.
